Gas Chromatograph – Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS) and Gas Chromatograph with Flame Ionization Detector (GC-FID, 6890N Series) both from Agilent Technologies and used daily as the workhorses of the laboratory.
They are used to analyze volatile lipid molecules and small modified lipid molecules. Furthermore, a library of the petrochemical molecules of interest that we are able to synthesize from lipids was created using the GC-MS.
